Bionics Institute and Dementia Australia Research Foundation join ADNeT

The Bionics Institute has joined ADNeT to advance collaborative research on non pharmacological treatment of dementia. By combining ADNeT’s extensive clinical and research networks with the Bionics Institute’s innovative programs, the partnership seeks to contribute to more effective dementia care strategies. The Bionics Institute’s researchers are developing the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive treatment that shows promise of improving cognition in Alzheimer’s disease and a range of other diseases. This collaboration underscores the growing emphasis on multidisciplinary approaches to tackle the challenges of neurodegenerative diseases and advance the fight against dementia.

The Dementia Australia Research Foundation’s (DARF) partnership with ADNeT will help foster the next generation of dementia researchers, focusing on high-quality research across all dementia types. DARF’s core purpose is to support new, early- and mid-career researchers to get involved, and then stay involved, in high-quality dementia research and to drive and support translation, so that research ultimately makes a tangible difference to the lives of people living with dementia. DARF will complement ADNeT programs by strengthening the dementia research workforce through initiatives that support early- and mid-career researchers, particularly alongside ADNeT’s Early and Mid-Career Researchers Accelerator Group.

We look forward to productive collaboration with both the Bionics Institute and DARF.
